Maria SergioMeet this month's Spotlight Designer, Maria Sergio. Maria has the ground-up training and experience – stretching from construction, to interior design, even to the acquisition of fine art and accessories – that make her an extremely well-rounded designer and ensure that each client’s project will be completed seamlessly and beautifully from start to finish. With more than 15 years of diversified high end design experience collaborating with commercial and residential clients, she consistently brings her projects in, on-budget and on-time. Her special ability to meticulously fine tune the finishes in her clients’ kitchen and baths delivers a seemingly curated end product. Yet, Maria’s clients do not turn to her just for her design expertise; they find her enthusiasm and passion for the process most compelling. Maria is director of the recently expanded Showcase Baths located on Northern Blvd. on Long Island’s Gold Coast, adjacent to parent company, Showcase Kitchens, family owned and operated for over 85 years. Maria and her team of designers help clients select the finest tile, countertop and flooring materials as well as lighting, custom vanities and fixtures. Showcase Baths turns master baths into luxurious sanctuaries and powder rooms into the jewel of the home.

Favorite Design Trend: "For Kitchen counter tops, I am a purist and love the usage of natural material in conjunction with man made durability. The Island featured is a quartzite "copper dune" - exotic veining and color combination. The perimeter is a man made quartz with durable functionality for a soft off set to an otherwise dramatic island."
"I think when you are designing it's important to have a well rounded space and incorporate all different elements. In this kitchen we have featured glass, stone, wood & metal to complete the space. The overall color composition features grey, beige, rust & copper to warm up the timeless neutral stain of the "Greige" cabinets. This perfect combination of grey and beige has been a leading trend in selecting a neutral back drop."
