When you take the subway, you’re usually in a rush. Your focus is on the destination, not the journey. And why would it be? The subway is dirty, grimy and filled with people who are also in a rush. With the hustle and bustle of city life, no one ever takes a second to stop and really take in their surroundings. No one has really noticed the beauty of subway tile until recently. One of the hottest trends right now is using subway tile as an accent wall or backsplash in your kitchen. The tile comes in all different colors and sizes, making your kitchen stand out among the rest.
This week on Pinterest, we started a new pinboard based on the entire subway tile trend. We love all the colors, especially blue, and all the different patterns. Our favorite pin has a subway tile wall with a herringbone subway tile backsplash. Layering the different patterns on top of each other is the perfect way to make your backsplash pop without having to purchase new materials.
One of the coolest uses we found of subway tiles was actually for flooring. While many kitchens have tile flooring, using subway tiles is a great way to spice up an otherwise overdone floor treatment.
