The laundry room featured in this week’s mood board is filled with subtle luxuries, making it a dream space for any home. There are many different elements working together to create a functional, stylish space. The contrast created by combining striking and soft elements makes for a harmonious traditional design.

The color of the cabinets and counters softens the dramatic wallpaper used on the walls. Its bold pattern brings a focal point to the space without overpowering the design.

The abundance of lighting also adds a nice contrast to some of the heavier features. With natural lighting, pendants and other sources of light, the space seems open and welcoming.

Storage is highly sought after in laundry room designs. This space not only has an abundance of cabinet storage, but the large counters provide space for folding and other chores.

A unique feature of this laundry room design is the island in the middle of the space. Islands are typically seen in kitchens, but for homes with large families, it’s great to have in the utility room as well. Parents can do chores while still keeping an eye on children or helping with homework.

A fireclay sink is a heavy duty element perfect for the laundry room. It’s durable and stain, scratch, and thermal shock resistant. It completes the traditional look with a soft, warm finish.
