The best things come in the smallest packages, right? That’s why we love designing small spaces! With not a lot of space to fill, the room becomes about the essentials rather the accessories. Bringing style into the room through the necessities is a way to maximize function and beauty.

While small spaces are difficult to design for, you don’t have to sacrifice style for size. The base image in this week’s mood board is a beautiful example of how you can incorporate a chic sink into a small bathroom. Because it is wall mounted, the sink takes up less space than it would if it was mounted into a vanity. The toilet is also an element that has a compact design in this room.

Due to the nature of a powder room, you don’t need to incorporate a shower or bathtub into the design, allowing you more space to dedicate to the fundamentals. A great way to make the room seem bigger, besides using smaller fixtures, is an all-white color palette with natural lighting. As shown in the base image, the white walls paired with the window above the toilet make the room seem open and airy. An all white color room can seem stark or flat, but the designer added texture by incorporating subway tile and molding into the walls. Even though the tiles are in the same white or light gray color scheme, it breaks up the bright white and makes the room easier on the eyes.
