So you’ve just purchased a beautiful Farmhaus Fireclay sink by Whitehaus Collection®, but you’re not sure where or how to begin installing it?
If you’re planning on installing your fireclay sink as an undermounted (beneath your counter), here are a few helpful hints.
Choose a rough layout for your sink and corresponding fixtures. Take careful measurements.
Use a cutting tool like a scroll saw to cut the hole in your counter top for the sink.
After cutting the opening, begin to install the undermount support bar kit WHUMSB that can be ordered alongside your sink. This kit includes the undermount support bars, and four flange with screws. Make sure that you measure the height of your sink and leave enough space so the counter top is not sitting directly on the sink. A small gap of 1/8 to ¼” is recommended.
Once the undermount support bars are in place and screwed in securely, set the sink and counter top in, then make sure your sink is level.
Set a bead of silicone caulk to the sink rim and set the counter.
Please note: Whitehaus Collection® strongly suggests that the sink be on site before cutting any cabinets or countertops, as fireclay sinks are handmade and each sink can vary in size up to 2%.
